Water Polo Canada will present a pilot for its new R.I.S.E. program December 28-29 at MNP Community and Sport Centre. This pilot is for Alberta athletes only who will receive 7 hours of instructional time in the pool and 2 hours of class room education over the 2 days at a cost of $250.
R.I.S.E., which stands for Resilience, Improvement, Sportsmanship and Empowerment, is a training camp for 15U and 13U male and female water polo players. Athletes will have an opportunity to train with National Team coaches, build on their skills and knowledge both inside and out of the pool. We are pleased to confirm that 2 of our coaches for this camp will be Kyra Christmas, OLY and Noah Miller.
There are a limited number of spaces available (15 per category – 13U Girls, 13U Boys, 15U Girls & 15U Boys), and registration will be on a first come first serve basis.
While there is no minimum standard for this program, Water Polo Canada is targeting it at athletes how are currently competing for a club, are comfortable in deep water, and do not require additional assistance or breaks during the sessions.
The youngest birth year for the 13U program is 2011.
